Of course. It is important to have a child develop language skills, whether or not they are able to communicate vocally. I have taken to calling her Kölliker. For the past few days, I have been trying to teach her the basics of quantum physics and microbiology. Ray has also been helping quite a lot, and she seems to be very curious about us.

She does not need to pronounce it because she does not speak out loud. She is perfectly capable of learning it.

Speaking of nurturing, Faraday has been steadily increasing control over her fine motor skills. She has taken to drawing on my notebook. I am extremely proud of her growth.

Yes. I am excited to see what other ways she is able to develop, especially since spirits are not expected to grow in the same way living children do.

I am hoping that when Kölliker is able to form coherent thought, she will be able to act as a translator for other Pokémon, and I will further be able to understand Faraday's intentions.

Yes, I have heard that from her, as well. Though, as it will take some time to make our way to Goldenrod City, I thought it would be wise to have a back-up plan. This back-up plan also happens to be the plan to finally make psychic contact with another organism.

Speaking of Botan, I have asked her for another egg for a Pokémon called a Lapras. It looks like a sort of plesiosaur with a shell. I am interested in seeing how it develops, and I will give you whatever updates necessary.

Well, Ray and I are currently staying in Violet City for a few weeks and working at the Pokémon center to gain some spending money before we set off. I am also taking the opportunity to learn more about Pokémon biology. We also plan on exploring the Ruins of Alph extensively.

So...very likely a month or more.

Maybe if you capture a flying Pokémon, you can be here to say hello to the baby when it hatches.

Not only does this job allow us more money to not freeze to death in the cold, but it allows us an invaluable opportunity to see how healthcare operates in this world. I would think that you would appreciate one of those two things.

You should look into getting a job, yourself, or at least some source of reliable income. It would be unfortunate if you were to arrive without any money to actually buy a ticket.

[After a minute, he sends an extremely blurry picture of a sickly-looking winter Deerling curled up on the ground. Due to the image quality, it's hard to tell for certain, but its fur appears singed.]

Is there any sign of the mother nearby? I doubt you would want to get between a deer and its offspring, unless you like being gored. If it evolves into what would resemble our dimension's deer, I mean.

[There's a significant pause before--]

[He starts a video call, just to make this a bit easier on himself. Venkman doesn't want to keep dropping everything to type at Egon. He's currently crouched on the ground, trying not to make any sudden movements.

The camera focuses on the Deerling, which bleats in distress and tries to stand. Its legs wobble, and it flops back down in the scorched grass. It looks over at Venkman again, eyes bulging slightly and mouth parted open as it pants nervously.]

Ok, ok. Hey. Hey, it's alright. I'm not gonna hurt ya.

[He lowers his voice to a nervous, rushed whisper directed at Egon.]

I don't know what food I have on me that a deer might eat. I've got some of the generic Pokemon food stuff, but I don't wanna just toss that at it, it might think I'm trying to hurt it. And it's sure as hell not gonna eat outta the palm of my hand.

Do you think I should try letting out one of my other Pokemon, see if they can help it calm down? I don't want it to try running off, I dunno what'll happen to it if I can't find it again in the woods.

[Egon blinks when the video call connects--he's in the Pokécenter break room with Kölliker peering curiously at the screen. He figured that Faraday wasn't too interested in medicine, but Kölliker would greatly benefit from being able to tap into many other people's minds.

...Anyways, the important matter at hand is the Deerling. He tries to keep his voice quiet, making sure that the new sound won't startle it.]

It appears that it is incredibly stressed, which is understandable given its condition and unfamiliar new stimuli. I would suggest slowly taking a few steps back before allowing another Pokémon to approach.

...As the deer has been burned, I doubt your cat will do much besides aggravate it. Your isopod or Bond are probably your best bets, given that neither make any sudden movements.
