That's more than enough money to buy a single Twinkay. And it's a strategy for someone who won't bother putting in the effort towards showing their true strategic power.

[Which has coincidentally disappeared from his hand and into his mouth. He almost makes a comment on how to better Venkman's team, but...he gets distracted by the cute little kitty. Egon wipes his fingers on his jacket and gently squishes Tarantula's little cheeks, all while maintaining an absolutely stoic expression.]

You fought the most valiantly out of all of Peter's Pokémon.

[He's not gonna bother fighting it, not when it's so much more fun to see Egon entranced by a kitten. Tarantula squeaks in delight, before grabbing Egon's hand in her paws and licking his fingers.]

She sure did.

[Tarantula is adorable, thank you. He stays still for a moment to allow her to lick, then pulls his hands away. Egon gingerly scoops her up in his arms, careful not to jostle her too much.]

Now, let's go to the Pokémon Center to get them back into fighting shape, yes?

[Is he talking to Tarantula or to Venkman? Who knows? He does lean forward to kiss Venkman, though. He's not that mad about it.]
