[Ray gently smiles.]

Weeeell... I have been thinking about possibly getting a lab in Saffron or Goldenrod- with the train linking the two it would be a quick six hour train ride to each region and all the warp points and it would be a snap to get there for an emergency experiment.

[Egon nods, looking thoughtful.]

That would work well. Not to mention its proximity to Lavender Town. We would have the chance to study new supernatural phenomena up close.

[Unseen by Egon, one of the containment units in his bag rocks violently back and forth at the mention of the town.]

[Ray is blissfully unaware of this as he continues gushing.]

Yeah! Annie and Kirby could use a visit to their home town anyway.

And I hear that there's this really cool Pokemon that lives in the nearby cave that can predict future disasters! Cool and useful!

Is that so? Do you know if it's true clairvoyance or merely sensing ripples of psychokinetic energy through space-time? Maybe if we do some research, we'll be able to harness this power ourselves.

[Apparently, Egon never paid much attention to those stories that were like "seeing into the future and basing your decisions on that is bad". He also very much sounds like a Pokémon villain right now.]

'Dunno! The Pokedex entries just say they can "sense disasters", so we should try testing it out!

[His expression soften slightly as he looks at Egon.]

I think you might like them anyway. Apparently people assumed they were the cause of the disasters because they would show up right before, and would drive them deep into the mountains out of hatred for the poor things.

Most people hold a fear of the unknown and the unnatural world. It's almost shameful how much people still are unaware of the supernatural and what it holds, especially as this universe actually has such prominent activity.

[Egon nods slowly, munching thoughtfully on a spoonful of Jello. After a few moments, he says--]

A classic Frankenstein response.

[Ray nods as if he understands (he probably doesn't understand).]

They're apparently peaceful creatures too! They normally don't even like fighting despite being a dark type.

... And if we wanna perform experiments, it might be nice to have one on hand if something's gonna blow up!

[...Maybe not... the best reason to get one......]

[Egon seems to brighten a little at that.]

That does seem like a good idea, though I was more thinking about large-scale events such as the one we witnessed at the Ruins of Alph. It would make it easier to be there in sufficient time to actually create a plan and deal with the situation.

[Ray brightens as well; it really makes his day when he makes Egon brighten up at least a little.]

Even better! And if we plan on opening up a New Ghostbusters, having one on hand would be really useful for work!

[the ghostbusters become bad luck charms. but, then again, weren't they already bad luck charms?]

Wouldn't it no longer be called Ghostbusters if our scope were to be expanded to include Psychic and Dark types?

[He gets up out of his seat for a moment, picking up all the empty plates on the table. He somehow managed to finish everything during the span of this conversation.]

Maybe we should check up on the top deck and see how far we are, currently.

[Ray looks thoughtful.]

We can call ourselves the Pokebusters here! That way we don't have to worry if someone calls us about a wild Tauros or something.

[Ray picks up his own plates.]

Sounds like a plan! Some fresh air sounds nice right now anyway.

[Egon repeats the word, looking thoughtful.]

It has a distinct sound to it.

[ANYWAYS UP THEY GO. To the top deck!! As they climb up, Egon pauses to mention--]

Oh--I've forgotten to tell you, I recently received a Pokémon from someone as a gift. It is a fungus-like creature that uses mimicry to trick its prey into approaching it.
