[Well this is still nice because since Egon's walking they can hold hands which is perfect.]
And that's just considering the worlds we have at home! Just imagine how many bugs there are in a dimension where nature practically trumps technology!
[Ray had meanwhile brought Scooby, who is finally starting to come out enough that he's curious about the bugs here. He's staring at the Weedle with an almost childlike interest. What is this strange worm??]
Plus I've heard that there are some great grass Pokemon here! Did you know that in this dimension there's a snake that has arms and legs?
[It's gay rights! Egon gently squeezes Ray's hand.
Sir Wigglesworth tilts his head to the side before stomping his foot against the ground. The Weedle doesn't seem to care and nibbles on a leaf. He snorts, then trots back to join the group, keeping a watchful eye for any possible threats.]
You mean Snivy, correct? I believe that their eventual loss of legs in the species' subsequent evolutions must point towards the idea that the snakes in this world evolved in a similar manner to those in our world.
[Faraday slowly walks through the underbrush, her roots skittering along like a strange spider. Occasionally, she'll peer towards the boys to make sure they're still in sight, but she seems to be focused on her own thing right now.]
It's fascinating isn't it? Even though "evolution" as it's known here is vastly different from what we know, it seems to emulate Earth's evolution too! Did you know that the reason why Kabuto went extinct was that it's evolution, Kabutops was created to start to adapt to land but they didn't evolve in time to prevent their own extinction!
[Scooby watches the Weedle intently, before he seemingly starts hearing a noise and perks up worriedly in the direction.]
And now they have the technology to revive them from fossils. [Egon shakes his head.] You know, Ray, this dimension has made incredible leaps and bounds in science, especially after having only recently begun formal research endeavors.
[Wigglesworth's antennae twitch as he turns his head to stare towards the noise. He paws at the ground, wary. What's up?
Faraday doesn't care. She's busy leaning over weird looking stumps and trying het best to draw them.]
Isn't it amazing? I'm wondering if putting their focus away from automobiles and urbanization has allowed them to put more effort into technological advances like that!
[Scooby gently moves closer to the sound, still looking incredibly nervous.
[Sir Wigglesworth doesn't even hesitate--he lets out a screech and charges into the bushes, stomping his legs at whatever lies within. Hopefully whatever's in there runs away. Egon jolts, turning to look at the Scolipede in alarm.]
What do you think you're doing?!
[The Scolipede pauses, turning to look at Egon before tossing his head up, snorting derisively. He took care of a potential threat. You're welcome.]
[A startled squeak is heard from the bushes as they run away briefly. Scoob is too busy being terrified by the sudden screech and dashes behind Ray, who is just confused by all of this.]
[Wigglesworth snorts in a derisive manner towards the nickname, but tilts his head in the direction of the fleeing Pokémon. Faraday skitters towards it, letting out a low, curious noise.
Egon arches an eyebrow and starts walking slowly towards the bushes, gesturing for Ray to follow.]
Come on, Ray. Let's see if we can get a cell sample from this Pokémon.
[Too late. As Egon tries peering into the bushes, the vine smacks him in the face and knocks his glasses askew. He stumbles backwards and grabs at Ray's arm, fixing his glasses and glaring at the bush.
Faraday skitters over in concern, letting out a low rumbling sound and plunging her arm into the shrubbery to grab at the attacker. Have at it, you fiend!]
[Oh, sorry! Faraday lets out an apologetic noise before gently placing the Bulbasaur down on the grass. Unfortunately, the Bulbasaur gets no respite as Egon is immediately down on his stomach trying to get a closer look at it.]
Ray--you'll like this! It's a frog-like Pokémon, perhaps related to some form of fossil Pokémon of this world.
[He immediately tries sticking his stethoscope under its chest.]

Hey Wiggles, who was that?
[That's his nickname now, I guess.]

[Or you could...catch it...like a normal person.]

Still, Ray happily follows.]
I hope it's one of the snakes we were talking about!
[As they approach, however, a vine from the bush reaches out to smack them away.
Probably should... dodge that.]

Whoa! What was that?
[The little guy starts squeaking angrily and flails about, trying to get out of Faraday's grasp, but failing miserably.
Wanna see the attacker, Faraday?
no subject
Egon looks delighted.]
Look, Ray--Faraday caught something.

[Ray holds onto Egon's shoulder and excitedly looks on.
And Faraday pulls out a Bulbasuar! They're tiny and super angry, thrashing about in her vines.
>:( Put him down you jerk!!!]
